SUITABILITY:
Dearka's world doesn't have any alien kaiju running around, but in basically every other regard you can think of, he's exactly the kind of guy you want to have on this operation. He's an experienced, elite soldier of ZAFT, the national military of his homeland. With around 4 years of experience, he's highly trained and highly adaptable, and he's got the skills required to pull off all kinds of missions in all sorts of environments. Knock-down, drag-out, all out brawls and messy ground confrontations? He's got that. Space battles? Aerial battles? He's got that too. Some kind of swarm of fucked up bug kaiju show up, and the team's gotta infiltrate the nest and take out the Brood Mother without her legions of hideous children noticing?? Great news, he can do covert stealth operations too! (Ask him about the time he and his pals infiltrated Heliopolis and GTA'd a quartet of giant fucking robots.) He doesn't just have bog standard military training; this fucker graduated near the top of his class at the academy, and earned himself the right to wear the red uniform of an elite ZAFT soldier.
Now, I hear you, my imaginary pitch audience, thinking: "So he's well trained! Big whoop. What good is all that if he doesn't have any actual experience?" Well guess what? He's survived active duty, serving in not just one, but TWO catastrophically bloody and destructive wars! He's no stranger to life or death missions, and he's pushed through stress in plenty of close call sticky situations, still managing to come out the other side alive and kicking. He's has seen friends die; he's seen super nukes go off, he's watched cities be razed to the ground and seen entire space stations full of innocent civilians get exploded by the enemy. Gundam world is a FUCKED UP PLACE, and this alternate version of Earth really isn't going to be that much of a shock to him. Time and again he's demonstrated that he has the nerve and the grit to carry on the fight, even in the face of tragedy.
What really makes him uniquely suitable, perhaps even more so than his fighting skills and experience, is the fact that he's psychologically a great fit for serving in an organization like LILITH. ZAFT is actually a volunteer army, so he understands the importance of stepping up and making personal sacrifices for the defense of humanity. He's used to taking orders and living the military base life, too. Most importantly, he's gone through all this terrible shit in his life and somehow managed to grow his sense of empathy, instead of becoming hardened and jaded by the terrible things he's seen. He's an excellent team player, a great mediator, and a calming, laid-back presence... Which is an invaluable asset to have on a team full of extremely stressed out semi-kidnapped soldiers with clashing personalities. He's also Yzak's second-in-command and takes over the Jule team when needed, so you know he's got some decent leadership chops of his own.
He's pretty much the complete package. LILITH should want him, Kaiju should fear him 👌

POWERS & SKILLS:
Dearka is a Coordinator, so while he doesn't have any supernatural powers, he does have skills and abilities that exceed the average human level:
- faster learning/skill retention
- sharper reflexes and senses
- enhanced physical ability
- virtually immune to disease
He's also been in the military for 4 -ish years and graduated as one of the top pilots in his class. That means he's got extensive training in:
- firearms
- hand to hand combat
- explosives
- programming (you should see how fast a coordinator can re-program a mobile suit, it's stupid)
- piloting
- stealth operations & infiltration
NERFED POWERS:
The only "power" I can think of that might need to be nerfed is the disease immunity? I'll leave it up to mod judgement. But I believe it's canon that coordinators are generally immune to like, standard Earth diseases, so I was intending to play it out as, "resistant, but could still potentially get his ass kicked by alien viruses". Especially if it's dramatic or funny to do so.
PERSONAL ITEM:
Compliant with the restrictions outlined in this FAQ answer, a scaled down and nerfed to 30% capacity version of his Lightning Buster Gundam.
ALTERNATE IDENTITY:
Derick Eichmann; AI systems monitor with the Tokyo rail system. The trains may be automated but presumably they have SOME kind of presence overseeing them to make sure nothing’s going wrong, right? His fake cover job is that he sits and stares at monitors all day.
CODE NAME CHOICE:
Honestly, I'm curious to see if you guys have any suggestions? I'm a fan of Rule of Funny and he deserves to have his ass dunked on, but something suitable is fine too. I only have two suggestions from fucking around on the TDM and I'm not sure if they're suitable or match format:
- YellowHairDude (a very stupid reference/in-joke)
- BusterMove (MS name reference and pun referencing his interest in Japanese dance; also matches Yzak's, if they both manage to get accepted.)
